At Green Planet Forest School we believe in providing children with an immersive outdoor learning experience that fosters enrichment, emotional development, and a deep appreciation of nature. Our Forest School program is designed to instil a lifelong love of the natural world, while also giving them confidence to assess, manage and take calculated risks, which results in greater confidence to try new things. And as we know, confident children grow into confident adults.
Everything we do is deeply rooted in the Forest School ethos, with heavy emphasis on the holistic development of children and young people. That means jointly the social, emotional, physical, mental, and intellectual growth of a person. We place great emphasis on creating environments, activities and situations where the children who come to our sessions can get those benefits in fun, impactful, and memorable ways. Our skilled and experienced education team provide a safe, supportive environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace. In school time and during home education sessions, and at our holiday clubs and afterschool clubs we offer a range of activities designed to engage and inspire young minds, from nature walks and plant identification to shelter building, ropes, swings and hammocks in the trees, the use of a wide range of tools from hammers to knives and axes, woodland crafts like whittling and weaving, fire skills and campfire cooking, and all are presented in a way that puts the individual learner in charge of their development. During term time you’ll find us in primary schools across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and at our dedicated Home Education site, Thornton Wildwood between the villages of Thornton and Nash MK17, delivering exciting Forest School sessions which develop children’s confidence, emotional and social skills, support their physical and mental wellbeing and inspire their interest in the natural world.
During school holidays you’ll find us at one of our exciting Forest School locations where children aged 4-13 (reception to year 8) can spend the entire day out in nature exploring, climbing, building, crafting and generally having lots of muddy fun.
